Power Blackjack is a blackjack variation that does not significantly differ from the classic game but has unique features adding some novelty to the gameplay.

Power Blackjack Features and Rules

First, let’s look at the game rules that are similar to the classic variation:

• Eight playing card decks are used
• The dealer looks at hole cards for possible blackjacks
• The dealer stands on all 17s
• The gambler can double down
• The gambler can split cards
• The gambler only gets one card per hand when splitting As
• Blackjack pays 3:2
• Insurance on Blackjack pays 2:1

Here are the differences between Power Blackjack and regular blackjack:

• All 9s and 10s are removed from the decks. Therefore, 8 decks contain 352 cards
• The dealer peeks for blackjack if his top card is a J, Q, K, or A
• The player can double down and increase bets 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x after seeing the first two cards but get only one card

Power Blackjack Bets

The key change providing Power Blackjack with a different twist is the following. Once the gambler has been dealt two first cards, he can double, triple, or quadruple down. He can do so after a split, as well. So if the player is dealt a weak hand, he can split it and double down. This option also gives the player an extra card, and the bet will increase accordingly.

Furthermore, this game version features four different side bet options. Betting is limited to just 12 seconds. Here are the side bet variants:

• Hot 3 Wager — betting that the gambler’s initial two cards and the dealer’s face-up card will all be 7s or equal to 19, 20, or 21
• 21+3 Wager — playing the gambler’s initial two cards and the dealer’s face-up card as a Three Card Poker hand
• Any Pair — betting gambler’s initial two cards are a pair
• Bust-it Hand — betting on the number of cards before the dealer’s bust
